Sil (for Simple Illustrator) was written by Chuck Thacker (main designer of the Xerox Alto) and it was an intellectual successor of Sketchpad (along with Draw). It is a graphical object editor that allowed users to construct figures out of selectable, movable, stretchable geometric forms and text.[1]
