Bushy Tree (2002)

In 1999, John Redant, then a student at the University of Regina in Canada, with input from DigiBarn curator Bruce Damer and others filled out the original "bushy tree" diagram of the lineage of visual computing systems (mostly software). The goal was to bring this diagram up to the year 2000. This diagram was originally used in John's article Contributions and Downfall the Xerox Star. Many of the "leaves" in the tree above were clickable and would have brought up associated web resources. John had decided in late 2007 to resurrect the Bushy Tree diagram and make it into a Wikia website.
